Our First Blog Post and the Importance of Regular Massages

Welcome to Stag Sports Massage's first blog! We will be posting monthly blog posts which will highlight the benefits of massage and other recovery methods and modalities. Additionally, we will share news regarding health and fitness, along with many useful tips and tricks to help you stay healthy and pain-free!


Most clients only come in when they are experiencing pain, injury, or are coming off of recent surgeries. While sports massages can help aid in recovery and pain management, the real benefit is in injury and pain prevention. Specifically, sports massage can help with the following:

  • Increase blood flow to muscles, helping to remove cellular waste and bring in new nutrients.

  • Reduce muscle tension, preventing strains and tears in muscles and tendons.

  • Enhance joint mobility and range of motion, ensuring natural movement patterns and reducing the risk of sprained ligaments and strained muscles and tendons.

  • Aid in neural excitability and build the mind-muscle connection, allowing more fine-tuned control of your muscles and joints.

  • Activate the parasympathetic nervous system to help your body and mind relax during the sessions while also training it to activate more easily in your daily life.

  • Decrease cortisol levels, which is the hormone responsible for stress regulation.


Preventing injuries and surgeries can save you a lot of stress, inconvenience, and money, however we at Stag understand that it can be difficult at times to find the time and money to get consistent massages.
